If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up in a Disney-themed hotel surrounded by Mickey, Donald, and all the feels of your childhood, girl, this one’s for you! Last September 22, 2024, we finally got to stay a night at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel inside Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and let me tell you, it was every bit of magical and expensive (haha, ₱20,000 a night lang naman 😅) but so worth it!

Getting There 🚆✨

We started our adventure all the way from Chungking Mansions and took the MTR going to Sunny Bay Station, where you’ll find the special Disneyland Resort Line. Even the train ride felt like an attraction, with Mickey-shaped windows and handles! Early in the morning, we were already so excited. When we arrived at the Disneyland Resort Station, the huge “Welcome to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort” arch greeted us, perfect photo spot, so Nacha quickly posed Minnie Mouse dress. 😂

Checking In (But Not Yet 😂)

We took the resort shuttle to our hotel, Hollywood Hotel, one of the three official Disney hotels in the resort (the others are Disneyland Hotel and Explorer’s Lodge). We picked Hollywood because it’s the most affordable (relatively speaking 😅).

When we arrived, we learned that check-in was at 3PM, so we just left our luggage at the counter and explored. The staff were super friendly, they even gave us a photo pass, discount coupons (10–20%) for hotel souvenir shops, and a Disney Resort guide map.

Exploring the Other Hotels 🌿🍫🎶

Since we had time, we hopped on the resort shuttle to visit the other two hotels. We had lunch at Explorer’s Lodge, and I ordered a chocolate bomb dessert worth HK$35. pricey but so cute and worth it! After lunch, Nacha played at the Nemo Recreation Reef, a Finding Nemo–themed indoor playground.

Then, we also checked out the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, and wow, I am speechless. It had a grand Victorian design and a maze garden that looked straight out of a fairy tale. Nacha had a blast exploring the maze while I took about a hundred photos (haha guilty). There was even a live band playing Disney songs in the lobby, t’was so magical, feels like we are in a movie! 🎶

Finally, Our Hollywood Room 🎥⭐

At exactly 3PM, we finally got our room keys. Yey! The Hollywood Hotel’s interiors were all themed around Mickey, Donald, and friends, with cute vintage movie decor everywhere. Our room had the cutest Mickey details, even the lamps and mirrors had ears! Nacha was all smiles, bouncing around her little bed like it was her own Disney castle.

Kid-Friendly Disney Fun Inside the Hotel 👧🎨

One thing I super appreciated about Hollywood Hotel is how kid-friendly it is. There’s a play area where kids can join themed activities — the day we went, the theme was Inside Out! Nacha played puzzles and joined games featuring Joy, Anger, and Sadness (and honestly, ako rin nag-enjoy haha). She even got small prizes — priceless moments talaga. 💜

We also tried the Disney Magical Coin Machine, you insert a $5 HKD coin and get a cute collectible Disney coin. Perfect souvenir idea for budget travelers!

A Little Trick (Shhh 🤫)

Okay, tip lang (pero secret ha 😂): If you tell the hotel it’s your child’s birthday, they’ll give a special birthday card and towel setup, and sometimes, Disney characters will give them extra attention for photos. I actually learned this from a Hong Kong–Macau travel group — and it worked! Haha. Nacha got her surprise “Happy Birthday” towel and was over the moon.

Dinner and Filipino Kindness 💖🍗

That evening, we went back to the Disneyland Hotel for dinner at the Walt Café. We met a Filipina waitress there, super accommodating and kind! (Alam mo yung instant comfort pag may kabayan ka abroad? 🥹) Nacha had chicken with potatoes, and we ended the night by shopping for a cute Olaf hat at the souvenir shop before heading back to our room for some well-deserved rest.

The Magical Breakfast 🍳🐤

Of course, we couldn’t skip the buffet breakfast at the hotel’s Ink & Plate restaurant. We got to take photos with Donald Duck himself, it was nice to see young Nacha’s giggle! The breakfast spread had both Chinese and Western dishes, and even though we had to pay HK$150 for Nacha’s meal, it was all worth it for the experience.

Last Hurrah Before Check-Out 🏰💫

Before checking out at noon, we went back to the Storybook Playroom (it finally opened!) and Nacha got to meet all her favorite princesses in doll form, from Snow White, Jasmine, Moana, Merida, Cinderella, and even Tiana! Seeing her eyes light up made the whole ₱20,000 stay feel priceless. We used every minute before checkout, kasi siyempre, sulit dapat! 😂

Final Thoughts 💜✨

Staying at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel was honestly one for the books. From the magical train ride to the themed rooms, from Filipino hospitality to the pure joy on my daughter’s face, everything felt like stepping into a dream. If you’re planning a Hong Kong Disneyland trip with kids, I highly recommend staying at least one night here. Sulit sa memories, promise!

Next stop: our relaxing stay at Solar Villas, Ma Wan Island 😉.

Love lots 💜,
