Best Places to Visit with the Taipei Fun Pass: Our Family’s DIY Adventure

Turning Ordinary Days Into Extraordinary Memories.

Wondering if the Taipei Fun Pass is worth it? Here’s how we explored Taiwan’s top attractions—from zoos to gondolas and more—using the 3-day unlimited pass!

One of the best decisions we made on this trip? Getting the Taipei Fun Pass. Seriously, it saved us time, money, and so much mental energy. (Gurl, ang hirap mag-budget on the go haha.)

We got ours via the Klook app and claimed it at the airport. It came with unlimited rides on the MRT, city buses, and tourist shuttles for three days, PLUS access to a bunch of attractions like Taipei Zoo, Maokong Gondola, Miramar Ferris Wheel, and even Taipei 101.

Day 1: Rest, Research, and a Night Stroll

After settling into the hotel (finally!), we spent our first full day in Taiwan resting and researching our destinations. We made it a point not to rush. (Self-care muna, ok?) By 6 PM, we headed out for a chill Taoyuan night stroll and grabbed some snacks at a local grocery.

Nacha was in full explorer mode, pointing at unfamiliar chips and cute juice boxes. We bought stuff we couldn’t even read but YOLO. Most turned out yummy anyway!

Day 2: Taipei Zoo + Maokong Gondola + Miramar Mall

We were up early, breakfasted, bundled up (dahil malamig pa rin lol), and off to our first stop: Taipei Zoo.

We took the MRT, no hassle. Once inside the zoo, we saw pandas, koalas, and so many adorable animals. The place was massive! Good thing we had a stroller.

Tip: Bring water, snacks, and wear comfy shoes. The zoo is huge, and your legs will thank you.

By lunchtime, we found a McDonald’s inside the zoo (yes, legit relief!). After that, we rode the Maokong Gondola, which was just walking distance from the zoo.

Riding a cable car over the forested hills was magical. The view was a mix of city and nature, and the breeze? Sobrang lamig pero ang sarap! (Parang Korean drama moment haha.)

Next stop: Miramar Mall. We didn’t plan to shop, but we came for the Ferris Wheel.

It lights up beautifully at night and gives you a stunning view of Taipei from above. We all screamed a little (Nacha included lol), but it was a core memory for sure.

Day 3: WordCamp Asia + Taipei 101 + Children’s Amusement Park

That Friday, I attended WordCamp Asia at the TICC. It was such an honor to be surrounded by fellow developers and tech creatives. Noah and Precious took Nacha to a nearby café while I geeked out for a bit.

After the conference, we headed to Taipei 101. Unfortunately, the lines were wild, so we just took pics outside (next time na yung loob lol).

Next was the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park—one of the most toddler-friendly spots we visited. Rides were safe, colorful, and not too crowded. Nacha loved the mini carousel and we all shared cotton candy after. 🥹

Is the Taipei Fun Pass Worth It?

YES. If you’re planning to explore multiple spots in three days, this pass is a total budget and convenience lifesaver. You skip ticket queues, save money on train rides, and get access to some of the best family-friendly places in Taipei.

Tip: Maximize it by grouping nearby attractions in one day. Also, check opening hours before going para hindi sayang ang punta!

Final Thoughts

This pass helped us experience Taiwan’s fun, colorful side as a family. We saw animals, rode gondolas, screamed on a Ferris wheel, and just lived in the moment.

Highly recommend it to other families traveling with kids. It makes everything smoother and more exciting.

Next blog is all about our slow days—museums, temples, night markets, and those quiet moments we’ll never forget.

Love lots 💜
