You might remember our blog post last February—about our dear uncle, Jessie Boy (aka Tito Jessie or Uncle Jesus), a 56-year-old with Down syndrome, who was battling Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease. It was one of the hardest stories I’ve ever had to write.
Back then, we were all preparing for the worst.
Doctors told us dialysis was his only option—but we knew in our hearts that his body couldn’t endure it. So with so much prayer and tears, our family chose palliative care instead. All we wanted was for him to be comfortable, loved, and pain-free in his remaining days. (that decision broke all of us.)
But God had other plans. ❤️

Fast forward to April 2025… Something unexpected—no, miraculous—happened.
After weeks of home care, support from our titas and titos, and prayers coming from every corner, Tito Jessie went to another doctor’s appointment. Honestly, we were just hoping to see if his condition stayed stable… or at least didn’t get worse.
But the results? ALL NORMAL.

As in, no trace of Stage 5 CKD. Bloodwork, imaging, everything—normal. The doctors were in shock. One even double-checked if they were reading the right patient’s files. 😂 (Di kami makapaniwala, as in literal iyak tawa.)

From being bedridden to walking again.
From needing urgent dialysis to taking just vitamins and maintenance meds. Tito Jessie can now get up on his own, walk with support, and carry himself around the house. He’s still being lovingly cared for by one of our aunties, and the rest of the family continues to support in every way they can. And while he still needs ongoing checkups and nutritional support, it’s clear:
God moved.
Not just medically. But spiritually, emotionally, miraculously. ✨
From this. To this.

To everyone who donated, prayed, shared, or simply whispered a quiet “Lord, please help him”—this miracle is yours, too. You were part of this healing story. 💛
Because of your hearts, Tito Jessie didn’t just survive. He lived.
And he’s still living—with joy, comfort, and peace. Thank you for being with us through it all.
